Well known by the name "DanZak", he is an Omani rnb/pop artist who has over 40 records of high hit potential. His music has a unique sound with an afro-arab blend that is rare to find and he is currently based in Muscat Oman.What started as a hobby and a creative outlet for the undiscovered talent, has quickly grown into an international success story for East African born, Omani national, DanZak. A singer, songwriter, producer, entertainer and businessman, DanZak has solely established himself as a true home-grown success story.
Considered an ‘underground’ artist in the Middle East, friends posted YouTube videos of the young talent singing his own songs (Wifey, My Girl and Omani Queen) which quickly racked up over 15,000 views, purely by word of mouth. This star in the making began to shine brightly, without any formal marketing or promotion.In early 2009, DanZak left Oman for Australia to study Aviation where he gained his Commercial Pilot License accredited by CASA. During his 18 months abroad, DanZak wrote, recorded and produced over 40 songs. Releasing them online, his loyal fan base grew at an incredible rate both in Australia and back home in the Middle East and East Africa.
DanZak signed up to Akon’s Hitlab (www.hitlab.com), a website where unsigned singers can upload their songs for analyzing against the Top 100 Billboard hits of the past 6 years. Akon, with 6 grammy award nominations himself, offers Hitlab contestants the chance to showcase their own songs with the winner receiving the opportunity to be signed to Akon’s label Konlive or Konvict. DanZak held the number 1 spot on Hitlab for an unprecedented 9 weeks!DanZak returned home to Oman in June 2010 with overwhelming popularity and unforeseen stardom; especially for someone who has not officially released an album! Now with over 10,000 fans on his official Facebook fan page and continuous radio air play across the Middle East, DanZak has done shows Internationally including Dubai UAE.
He has worked with various international and local artists and producers including Kajmir Royale (USA), Symeon (France), Cato (USA), Salma (Australia), The Analyst (Netherlands), ProzpectMuzic (USA), KJ (India), Low Rhyders (India), KGT of G Records (Tanzania), Taqwa and SumaLee (Tanzania) and local Omani talents A.K.D, YungStarz, DK, Joey Jo, Smokey and Scooby. DanZak encourages international collaborations and diversification of his music. He enjoys the music making process and is fanatic bout his music production.
A savvy businessman and entrepreneur, DanZak owns production and entertainment company, Music Masterpiece. Once an event planner himself, DanZak’s Music Masterpiece, is now busy scheduling his own appearances and performances. The future is bright for this dedicated entertainer who performed just weeks after returning to Oman to a sea of screaming fans.
DanZak says humbly, “It’s very surreal but extremely flattering when fans approach me to ask for an autograph,nothing makes me happier than hearing fans say that my new song is even better than the last.”
